As a new charity we are keen to build long lasting relationships with businesses who can help us achieve our goals and raise awareness of our work within the business community here in Wales. We need your help to raise one million pounds this year which will help to save many Welsh lives. In return we can help your business achieve its corporate social responsibility aims and give you the opportunity to support the local community.
We are running a number of high profile events throughout Wales the year including Wales’ Biggest Tea Party (during the month of March) and the Great Cardiff Bay Santa & Elf Dash (always a great turn-out). We would love for you to come on board and help us promote our events.
There are a number of ways to get involved whether you would like to donate money, time or your brand to use on promotional literature.
Please do get in touch to see a full list of our events and opportunities to get involved.
An appeal to local businesses in Wales. Have you considered funding an AED defibrillator in your community? The benefits extend far beyond helping to save lives.
If you are an employer or an employee, have you considered placing a public access defibrillator at work? A public access defibrillator will not only protect your colleagues or employees, but it will also provide life-saving equipment for those in your community.
Shocking statistics state that the survival rate after a sudden cardiac arrest outside of hospital in Wales is only 3%. Where a defibrillator is used, the survival rate increases by 47% to 50%
In Wales there are approximately 8,000 sudden cardiac arrests outside of hospital each year.
Welsh Hearts want to raise funds across Wales in rural communities, the work place and schools in order that a defibrillator is positioned next to every fire extinguisher in Wales. We will also carry out the training FREE by our own medical team, who are medical professionals working in Wales. We are inundated on a daily basis with requests from communities throughout Wales!
If you’d like to apply for a defibrillator for your community, please get in touch.
By choosing us to be your Charity of the Year we can work closely with you to get all of your staff involved in some way to help raise money for Welsh Hearts.
Whether your staff organise their own events or take part in one of our events or challenges it can be truly inspiring and motivating for your employees to help the local community and in turn to perform even better for your business.
It has also been noted across the business community that it can boost morale and Welsh Hearts will heavily promote your on-going support in the Welsh media which will help raise the profile of your company.
Payroll Giving allows your staff to make regular or one-off donations to charities including Welsh Hearts directly from their earnings or company or personal pension. The donations are made out of income before income tax is taken off so it is different to Gift Aid donations.
The scheme is managed by Payroll Giving Agencies (PGAs) which are charities approved by HMRC and they run the scheme on behalf or employers and pension providers.
To find out more about the scheme visit HMRC Payroll Giving.
Another great way to support Welsh Hearts is by donating gifts or vouchers that we can use for charity auctions, events and raffles that we hold throughout the year. Please get in touch with the fundraising team if you would like to donate gifts to Welsh Hearts.
As a new charity we would welcome your help in all sectors from IT, Finance, Administration, Marketing and PR, Events and Fundraising and much more so if you have expertise in these areas this is another valuable way of supporting Welsh Hearts.
If you have premises or a staff room or canteen at your workplace you could help us by having a Welsh Hearts collection box. Alternatively if your company recycles then let us help you by passing on your inkjets, cartridges and old mobile phones to recycle on your behalf as in return we are able to collect money for these items.
